Torch Relay at 2012 Olympics


As like other Olympics, the 2012 London Olympics also consists of Torch relay. The 2012 Summer Olympics torch relay is in progress which is running from late 19th May till 7 July 2012, prior to the 2012 Summer Olympics. The torch bearer selection process was announced on 18 May 2011. As well as visiting the four countries of the United Kingdom the schedule includes the three crown dependencies which are Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.
The Olympic Torch will travel across the UK for 70 days before arriving at the Olympic Stadium for the start of the Olympic Games. Some unusual methods of transport will be used, including horse, steam train and even zip wire.
